Getinge – where sustainability is more than a word

Sustainability means meeting today's needs without jeopardizing the ability to meet the needs of future generations. Sustainable development must combine ecological sustainability, financial and social sustainability.

Environmental responsibility

For Getinge, this means that greater profit should never be at the expense of destroying the environment or the health and well-being of people. We thus work continuously to minimize our environmental impact in the best way possible. In 2008, the Getinge Group initiated a systematic effort to establish efficient and sustainable environmental and climate work, through measures such as updating the Group's environmental policy and formulating the Group's environmental objectives. In 2009, this work continued and the Group has established regular internal reporting of environmental performance.

Environmental policy and targets

The overall environmental objective and policy of the Getinge Group is to contribute to a sustainable society. We therefore strive to minimize our environmental impact by optimizing energy consumption, not only in our own production and transports, but also by developing energy-efficient solutions for our customers. We have, for example, adopted the principles of EcoDesign in our new product and process development, in order to optimize the use of natural resources. We are also committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our waste handling and our emissions to air.
