Yuko Nagasawa takes on role as President of Getinge Japan
Getinge Japan’s new President, Yuko Nagasawa, starts her job with a clear goal: to grow the business in Japan by delivering an increased amount of medtech and life science solutions to customers, together with an engaged team of co-workers.
Coming from the pharmaceutical industry Yuko Nagasawa was keen on a new challenge where she could apply her experience.
“Medtech is an interesting area, and at Getinge we also provide solutions for the pharma industry from which I have a lot of knowledge,” says Yuko Nagasawa who just headed up her new role as President of Getinge Japan. “It’s important for me to contribute to something meaningful, and with Getinge’s solutions I feel that we make a true difference in the greater society.”
What she look forward to the most is getting to know and collaborating with customers, partners and her new Getinge colleagues.
“Working together with different types of people means learning new things every day. I like to be part of learning cultures where there is also good team spirit. People to me are differentiators, so boosting engagement is something I will focus a lot on with the fantastic team in Japan.”
Another thing she is passionate about is digitalization, and the major benefits it can bring to healthcare.
“We see how doctors and nurses are struggling, not the least when the pandemic was at its peak. Digitalizing healthcare means saving lives, but on a higher level. It can help hospitals solve issues such as dealing with staff shortage, decreasing surgery times and managing bed turnover in a timely manner. We are on an exciting journey where digital solutions can help improve care by creating those efficient workflows.”
When she is not working, Yuko reloads the energy levels by spending time with her family and exploring new places.
