Driven by curiosity and the ambition to build strong and diverse teams
Marcio Mazon draws on his curiosity and experience from a diverse background to leverage the opportunities and challenges in his role as Getinge’s President for Latin America and South Europe.
Marcio Mazon joined Getinge almost seven years ago as Global Sales President for Latin America. Under his leadership, the region expanded to include South Europe (Portugal, Spain and Italy) in 2022.
Originally from Brazil, Marcio has lived in several countries across Americas and Europe, now residing in Madrid, Spain. His career began in engineering within the electronic manufacturing industry, but he soon transitioned into sales, eventually focusing on medtech, where he has continued his professional path.
“I appreciate the diverse experience from working in different industries and countries, it equips me well for my current role. I focus on removing barriers for efficiency and aligning our region with the unified Getinge strategy, says Marcio. “I enjoy collaborating with different cultures to understand what drives individuals and leveraging our collective knowledge and structure, to achieve great results.”
Marcio emphasizes the importance of curiosity and active listening to meet the needs of colleagues and customers alike, believing that presence and attentiveness are key to continuous improvement. He is proud of the work his team is doing, not the least when it comes to offering outstanding service to the customers in the region.
“Customer service is always our priority, and our service teams really stand out in this area. We are not only putting fantastic products at front but are also showing a very solid and reliable after-sales support. It’s of course crucial to keep the equipment up and running at the hospitals, to make it available to more patients and help improve hospital efficiency. We are making a real difference in this area and can do so even more.” Marcio says. "An indication of this is that the demand for service and consumables, is increasing in our region. Our team is very engaged and focused on finding synergies and efficiencies to meet this demand."
When he is not working, Marcio enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as going for a run; it makes him relax and sparks new ideas.
“Many times, I come back from a run, and I write down things that has come to mind, because when you're running sometimes your brain is flowing with good ideas.”
It is obvious that Marcio enjoys his job and is passionate about developing both people and the business.
“I work with great people in a great company. What else could I ask for?” Marcio concludes.
