Hernia repair is one of the most common general surgical procedures performed around the world. More than 750,000 repaired annually in the US alone. The majority of the repairs are performed using permanent synthetic mesh for reinforcement.

A full line of hernia repair implants to meet clinical needs

Getinge's full line of lightweight, mid-weight, coated, and non-coated mesh is based on the ProLite polypropylene platform, known for its unique strong knit monofilament construction. The Getinge portfolio gives surgeons and hospitals a variety of options, addressing the majority of clinical needs for hernia repair.

The right product for the right repair

Sometimes a surgeon needs a strong material, like our ProLite mesh, in order to provide a long lasting hernia repair. Other times, a lighter weight and more flexible material is the best choice, such as our VitaMesh and VitaMesh Blue. Getinge has the right product for the right repair.

A novel bio-absorbable coating adds a layer of protection

The C-QUR family of products uses an omega-3 fatty acid (O3FA) based coating. It acts as a tissue-separating layer when implants are placed in the intra-abdominal space. This layer of O3FA prevents organs from direct contact with bare polypropylene. The C-QUR family of mesh is the only product line that incorporates this natural coating of lipids, fatty acids and glycerides.
