Getinge publishes 2022 Annual Report

Today, Getinge AB (publ) publishes its 2022 Annual Report. The report summarizes a challenging year where the global medtech company, together with customers and partners, has made progress within sustainability, digitalization, acquisitions and developing new solutions to make life-saving technology accessible for more people.

“After living through the ordeal of a pandemic that has impacted our world for several years, 2022 was another extraordinary year,” says Mattias Perjos, President & CEO of Getinge. “Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is causing human suffering and put big pressure on global trade. At the same time, supply chain challenges and component shortages continued, and the global inflation rose.”

To address the challenges, Getinge continued working together with customers and partners to make life-saving technology accessible for more people, with the company strategy as a solid ground. Getinge took important steps forward when it comes to contributing to a more sustainable world, and has continued the efforts to becoming carbon neutral in own operations by 2025.

“For example, we currently use more than 60% renewable energy in our production and have reduced total carbon emissions in production by 48% year-on-year. We have also continued to develop products and services that reduce our customers’ environmental impact. Our long-term sustainability efforts continue with the aim of becoming a net-zero emission company by 2050,” explains Mattias Perjos.

Getinge’s organic order intake and net sales declined year-on-year in 2022, but the medtech supplier still sees many opportunities to develop the offering further in order to meet customer needs and thereby expand the market shares.

“We continuously grow through relevant acquisitions to expand our offering. We also see, perhaps more than ever, that digital advances in healthcare are helping more patients be treated more safely, while the work environment is positively impacted and costs kept under control. We have world-leading solutions that contribute to this, and more are on the way,” says Mattias Perjos. “Together with our customers and suppliers, we continue working to create improved work environments for hospitals and life science institutions with products that simplify their work, lead to increased productivity and save more lives.”
