APAC EVH Summit delivers strong program and builds momentum across Asia-Pacific.
Clinicians from 8 countries gathered in Sydney Australia to advance endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH), a minimally invasive technique used to obtain a bypass conduit for coronary artery bypass (CABG) surgery, in the APAC region.
The 2026 Asia-Pacific (APAC) EVH Summit recently held in Sydney, Australia (May 21-22, 2026), brought together clinicians, faculty, and Getinge team members from across the region for two days of education, collaboration, and peer-to-peer discussion focused on advancing endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH).
Building on the strong momentum established over recent years, the summit reflected the growing interest and engagement in EVH education throughout the region. The program brought together experienced harvesters, program leaders, and clinicians at various stages of EVH development, creating an environment centred around practical learning and shared experiences.
Highlights from the program were:
- Regional representation: 30 clinicians from 8 APAC countries (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh and the Philippines), spanning a diverse mix of experienced harvesters, developing users, and teams building EVH programs.
- Educational focus: Practical EVH workflows, program development, training strategies, conduit quality, and evolving techniques, supported by real-world clinical insights.
- Hands-on learning: Interactive device and endoscope handling, alongside the GetPlaying educational experience.
- Peer learning & discussion: Expert panel sessions, case-based discussions, audience Q&A and polling, and cross-country sharing of experiences and best practices.
One of the major strengths of the summit remained the level of clinician engagement throughout the program. Attendees actively participated in discussion sessions, shared individual experiences, and openly discussed challenges and opportunities seen within their own institutions.
The strength of these meetings continues to be the clinicians themselves. When you bring together experienced harvesters and developing programs from across different countries and healthcare systems, the conversations become incredibly valuable. Much of the learning happens in the discussions between sessions, over meals, and during open dialogue where clinicians are sharing what works in their own environments.

The summit showcased the significant progress being made across APAC as EVH education initiatives continue to grow and evolve. The energy and engagement throughout Sydney reinforced a bright future for EVH education in the region. Getinge remains committed to building on this progress and partnering with stakeholders to further advance education in the years ahead.
