Getinge boosts GSS67N sterilizer throughput with expanded validated load capacity at HSPA 2026

Getinge today unveiled an expansion of its GSS67N steam sterilizer platform at the HSPA 2026 Annual Conference.

The updated platform delivers up to 24 trays and 600 lbs of FDA-cleared validated load within the same installed footprint, enabling sterile reprocessing departments to increase output without expanding space, chamber size, or infrastructure.

Across the GSS67N family, validated capacity includes:

  • GSS67N10: 12 trays / 300 lbs
  • GSS67N13: 16 trays / 400 lbs
  • GSS67N17: 24 trays / 600 lbs

"Peak surgical days test every part of the sterile processing workflow, and margin for delay is nonexistent," said Tom Meevis, Vice President of Commercial Strategy and Communications at Getinge. "What we're introducing at HSPA isn't an incremental specification update — it's a new benchmark for what a sterilizer is expected to deliver. When you can rely on predictable performance at maximum capacity, you gain control over the busiest day. And when the busiest day is controlled, every other day becomes easier to manage."

Sterile processing departments are under pressure from rising case volumes, case complexity, as well as capital and capacity constraints. Higher validated capacity translates into fewer cycles per shift, reduced equipment wear, lower utility demand, and deferred capital expansion — without compromising the safety, compliance, or cycle reliability that define GSS67N.

"Our customers aren't asking for more equipment. They're asking for more output from the space, staff, and budget they already have," said Julia Elner, Senior Director of Sales at Getinge. "GSS67N answers that directly. It gives SPD leaders and their teams a measurable improvement they can point to.”
