Though the COVID-19 pandemic has forced cancellation of the Society for Vascular Surgery's signature Vascular Annual Meeting in its traditional in-person format, learning and education are moving forward.

SVS leadership and the SVS Program and Postgraduate Education committees have created virtual programming, bringing a curated collection of VAM's science and education to computer screens everywhere over the summer months.

After completing registration, you may access programming via the Online Planner.

SVS ONLINE will kick off June 20 with four hours of programming, including

  • Welcome and "State of the SVS" From SVS President Dr. Kim Hodgson
  • The William J. von Liebig Forum
  • The E. Stanley Crawford Critical Issues Forum
  • The Annual Business Meeting

As the summer continues, programming will include scientific sessions with research abstracts, invited sessions with practice tips, an international lecture, an "e-poster" competition and the forums that are a signature part of the Vascular Annual Meeting.

Live Webinar Content: Webcasts will take place live during the summer, beginning June 20. These webcasts will include abstract presentations and an invited session. Once the sessions end, the recordings will be available on demand for a period of time.

Industry-Sponsored Sessions: Industry-sponsored education will also be available through the platform, as live webinars and on-demand content. Sponsorship opportunities and more information on this initiative are available here

On-Demand-Only: The International Forum and the Poster Competition will be available only on demand. The winner of the Poster Competition will, however, give a live presentation during one of the scientific sessions.

Invited Sessions: Session topics cover Management of Type 2 Endoleaks, Telehealth, Current Controversies in Endovascular Therapy for PAD,  a debate on Deep Vein Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism Interventions (with the American Venous Forum), Spine Exposure, Surgeon Wellness and Hemodialysis Access.

The Vascular Quality Initiative and the Society for Vascular Nursing will also present education and information that had been planned for their respective annual meetings/conferences that were to have been held in conjunction with VAM.
