DPTE®-Glove System

On-demand sterile glove for aseptic processes

Our DPTE®-Glove System offers a ready-to-use glove connect or disconnect system. By replacing a traditional glove port with the DPTE®-Glove System you eliminate one of the weakest links in the barrier's integrity, thereby minimizing the risk of contamination and drastically reducing the time spent on testing.

Safe aseptic interventions

  • Reduced contamination risk due to fewer gloves remaining permanently on the line
  • Less time & resources spent on glove leak testing
  • Improved operational efficiency and flexibility
  • Lower consumable usage and waste
  • Highly aseptic interventions

Efficient manufacturing processes

Optimize the use of gloves to improve efficiency and to allow glove usage only when needed:

  • Full replacement
Replace all traditional gloves with DPTE®-Glove ports enabling a gloveless process until manipulation is required.
  • Partial replacement
Retain gloves where needed, while replacing unused or infrequentely used gloves with DPTE®-Glove ports, balancing operational flexibility and risk reduction.

Secured solution

The DPTE®-Glove System consists of two main parts, and is supported by a DPTE®-Glove Safety cover and DPTE®-Glove BioDecontamination container, providing a secured solution replacing fixed glove ports:

DPTE-Glove Alpha port to support on-demand interventions in the filling line

DPTE®-Glove Alpha Port - a closed port for maximum sterility

  • Ø240 with round shape, allowing great operator maneuverability
  • door opening angle of 165°
  • to be mounted on a (up to) 20 mm wall
  • safeties based on original DPTE® system

DPTE®-Beta CSM Glove - a sterile consumable to connect

  • delivered ready-to-use
  • integrity-tested and gamma-irradiated
  • to be connected only when intervention is required
  • validated for a shelf life of 18 months from the production date
  • validated for up to 50 connections

Annex 1 expectations met with the DPTE®-Glove System

Contamination risk reduction
Annex 1 calls for robust measures to prevent contamination. The DPTE®-Glove System reduces risk by limiting unnecessary use of gloves and enabling controlled interventions only when needed.

Minimized human intervention
Annex 1 identifies human intervention as a major contamination source. The DPTE®-Glove System reduces operator involvement within critical areas through a closed port solution with the option to connect a glove only when needed.

First Air protection
Annex 1 emphasizes the importance of protecting the first air reaching exposed products and product-contact surfaces from contamination. The DPTE®-Glove System supports this First Air Principle by helping maintain critical airflow conditions within the aseptic processing environment through its sterile design and reduced number of gloves required on the production line.

Sterile contact components
Annex 1 requires that direct and indirect contact surfaces remain sterile. The DPTE®-Glove System uses sterile, gamma-irradiated gloves helping operators to transfer and manipulate material without compromising the aseptic process integrity.

Glove integrity assurance
Annex 1 stresses the importance of glove integrity verification. The DPTE®-Glove Beta is delivered leak tested before installation and supports ongoing integrity verification through site-established testing procedures after manufacturing batches.

Safe and secure

The outstanding feature of the DPTE®-Glove system is the Alpha port, which is equipped with a secure locking mechanism that ensures safe and reliable connections and disconnections. This innovative design ensures that the DPTE®-Alpha door will remain leaktight and closed unless the DPTE®-Beta Glove is properly connected.

In addition, the DPTE®-Glove cannot be disconnected unless the double door is firmly closed, ensuring maximum safety and reliability.

Easy to use

The DPTE®-Glove system offers the same ease of use as the original DPTE®-Rapid Transfer Port system: line up the Alpha and Beta parts, unlock the door by rotation of 60°, open the DPTE®-Glove Alpha door from the outside using the glove, lock the door after manipulation and disconnect the Beta part.

The system is easily retrofittable with round 240 glove ports, and for systems using other configurations (like oval format) glass panels can be adapted by filling line manufacturers with minimal complexity.

Flexible and efficient

Through full or partial replacement of glove ports, the number of gloves on the filling line can drastically be reduced. This directly affects the number of leak tests required on a daily basis, saving time and money.

Based on each manufacturing's needs, the right balance between gloved and gloveless ports can be altered.
