PRESS RELEASE 25 May 2014
Getinge postpones 27 May Capital Markets Day and reschedules for a later date to be announced
Getinge announced today that it is rescheduling its Capital Markets Day for a later date to be announced. This decision was made based on very recent communications with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), which are the subject of active discussions.
Getinge Group will hold its Capital Markets Day when it has more to report about these discussions, their potential financial impact on the company, and the latest progress being made in strengthening Medical Systems’ quality management systems.
Getinge apologizes to those who had made plans to attend the Capital Markets Day and are inconvenienced by the rescheduling.
As announced earlier, the Medical Systems business area has been in a dialogue with the FDA to ensure that efforts made to strengthen its quality management system fully meet the FDA’s requirements based on a series of inspections that took place last year. The enhancements at Medical Systems are well under way and are expected to be completed during the second half of 2015, and, as previously disclosed, costs for these efforts are expected to amount to approximately SEK 800 million and were charged to the first quarter results of 2014.
This announcement will be followed by a conference call at 10.00 AM CET tomorrow, hosted by Johan Malmquist, CEO Getinge Group and Ulf Grunander, CFO Getinge Group.
