IABP troubleshooting: Advanced troubleshooting strategies for caregivers

This one-hour live program is recommended for caregivers who have a working knowledge of the technical and theoretical aspects of intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) therapy. It will provide the clinician with preventative and corrective solutions to the more common occurrences and alarms that can be encountered in the delivery of the IABP therapy. This interactive session will focus on utilizing a systematic approach to troubleshooting.

Objectives:

  • Identify three interventions in troubleshooting a poor-quality aortic pressure signal
  • Identify three interventions in troubleshooting poor quality or unobtainable ECG signal
  • Identify three interventions to utilize in troubleshooting fiber-optic catheter alarms
  • Identify three interventions to utilize in troubleshooting loss/gain gas alarms
