Weaning the Neonate Workshop

Join us on May 10^th - 11^th, for an enriching educational experience exclusively designed for nurses, residents, fellows, neonatologists and intensivists who take care of the tiniest patients.

Learning objectives:

• to gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles behind Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist (NAVA), including how it utilizes diaphragmatic electrical activity (Edi) to synchronize mechanical ventilation with the patient's respiratory efforts.
• to learn about the clinical scenarios and patient populations in which NAVA may be beneficial, such as premature infants, neonates with respiratory distress syndrome, and those requiring prolonged mechanical ventilation.
• to learn how to set up and initiate NAVA ventilation, including proper Edi catheter placement, ventilator settings adjustment, and troubleshooting common issues.
• to develop skills in interpreting diaphragmatic electrical activity signals, and optimizing ventilator settings to achieve optimal patient-ventilator interaction and respiratory support.
• to learn about weaning strategies and protocols specific to NAVA ventilation, including gradual reduction of ventilator support and assessment of readiness for extubation.

Minimum registration requirements:

• To ensure meaningful interaction with the presented content, participants are required to possess a minimum of one year experience in working with Edi monitoring and NAVA and a solid understanding of its principles.
• Registration is open to individuals residing within Europe, CEE (Central and Eastern Europe) and MEA (Middle East and Africa) regions.
