International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management
Notice from IACHSMM:
As a healthcare association dedicated to patient safety and infection prevention, IAHCSMM has always made creating a safe and healthy environment for attendees, exhibitors, staff and the community at large the top priority when we plan and hold our annual conferences. Because of that goal, we have been closely monitoring COVID-19 outbreaks and epidemiology data across the nation and, especially, in Ohio and Columbus/Frankin County.
After careful consideration, the IAHCSMM Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person Conference & Expo in Columbus, Ohio. Although we had every intention of moving forward with our in-person event, several recent pandemic-related developments led us to reconsider our decision. Ohio and the Columbus region are experiencing concerning upward trends in reported COVID cases, including significant increases in the spread of the highly transmissible Delta variant. On Friday, Sept. 10, Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther signed an executive order declaring a State of Emergency for the city of Columbus.
Although we understand that the cancellation is disappointing for all who were planning to attend, we believe that canceling the in-person Conference & Expo is the most appropriate response given the current pandemic-related trends. All along, we have been planning a virtual conference option and that will still take place Oct. 15–28. We look forward to having you participate in this virtual event, which will deliver first-class education in a safe, innovative and user-friendly format.
We thank you for your support and understanding.
Attendees should complete their cancellation registration prior to October 13 by visiting our Attendee Cancellation Form. All conversions to the virtual conference, transfers to the 2022 IAHCSMM Annual Conference & Expo in San Antonio or requests for refunds must be received by October 13, 2021. Any requests after October 13 will not be honored.
