Getinge partnership in India pioneers AI in the ICU

Getinge’s cooperation with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mumbai is an example of how the company strengthens its research in areas with growing importance. Current focus for the partnership is a system using Artficial Intelligence (AI) to help understaffed Intensive Care Units (ICUs) detect which patients that are in most need of urgent care.

Getinge Interim Report January-March 2023: Increased sales, strengthened earnings and PMA approval for iCast™ in the US

“The order intake and net sales increased organically by 2.9% and 7.5%, respectively, during the quarter”, says Mattias Perjos, President & CEO. “The higher sales volumes, price increases and positive currency effects contributed to both gross and operating profit strengthening, despite higher costs for purchases of both input goods and services as well as salaries.”

Together with other leading Swedish industries, Getinge has prolonged its partnership with the Swedish Industry for Quality Education in India as part of Pratham Sweden, supporting Pratham’s important work to ensure learning and growth of children in India.

Getinge part of EU project to develop artificial placenta for neonatales

Despite big medical progress in the past 50 years, a high number of neonatal deaths occur every year. A consortium with members from academia and industry, including Getinge, have now received funding to develop  an artificial placenta to keep supporting lung and kidney function development after birth – in an attempt to save the lives of more premature newborns.
