Enhanced coordination for better patient care

Hospitals face rising patient numbers and limited staff, making coordination increasingly difficult. To better manage these pressures, several Danish healthcare facilities implemented INSIGHT — a patient flow management solution that connects staff, resources, and communication in real time. According to an evaluation study summarized in Evaluating INSIGHT [1] the solution led to faster response times, clearer task visibility, and significantly fewer disruptions across key departments.

Measured benefits from Patient Flow Management

 19%

of increase in department efficiency[1]

6,398h

annual working time savings[1]

39%

reduction in number of phone calls[1]

65%

professionals experienced fewer disturbances[1]

Streamlining triage and treatment workflows

Efficiency in the emergency department increased by 19% after implementing INSIGHT. On an annual basis, a single staff member could treat 218 patients, up from 185, resulting in a savings of 6,398 working hours per year — equivalent to about four full-time positions. This valuable time was redirected toward patient-focused tasks, improving both care quality and staff satisfaction.

In emergency care, timely treatment is critical for patient safety. According to staff feedback, INSIGHT’s real-time display of waiting times and triage levels makes it easier to monitor and prioritize patients effectively.

Live updates on each patient’s treatment progress, from lab tests to imaging results, help ensure that care stays on track:
“We check: Who has examined the patient? Have blood samples been taken? Has the patient been X-rayed? Are the test results back? We check whether treatment is progressing and ensure the patient is examined at the right time,” the team explained.

The solution is clearly advantageous in terms of quality as we always know exactly how far a patient’s treatment has progressed. This means the departments have an opportunity to prepare, and transfers between units are smoother.

Silent hospital team communication

Staff particularly appreciated the reduced stress levels due to lower noise — primarily thanks to fewer ringing phones. With key data easily accessible on-screen, teams experienced fewer disruptive calls and a calmer working environment. An internal hospital study showed that incoming calls in the operating department dropped by 39% when using INSIGHT.

More efficient OR workflows

The study on changes in operating room workflows at with INSIGHT showed a marked increase in efficiency: time savings of 15% compared to surgeries without the solution, and an overall OR utilization increase of 6 percentage points - from 82% to 88%.

Surveyed staff confirmed the positive trend: 68% agreed that managing daily changes to the OR schedule had become easier. More than half (57%) noted improved access to information, and 65% said they were able to eliminate unnecessary walking routes.

The qualitative benefits were achieved due to a decrease in the number of disturbances in the department and a reduction in the time spent on handovers and conferences.

Improved coordination in daily hospital workflows

Beyond reducing unnecessary interruptions, INSIGHT brings together essential information across departments, offering a unified overview of patients, staff availability, and upcoming tasks.

An evaluation among users shows clear improvements in daily work.
76% agree they now have a better overview of upcoming tasks for patients in the department, and 88% agree they have greater control of the tasks and treatment activities assigned to each patient.

Creating lasting impact across the entire care pathway

INSIGHT demonstrates how real-time visibility, smarter coordination, and streamlined communication can transform daily work in busy hospital environments. Spanning the entire patient journey, the solution ensures that every step is supported by accurate, up-to-date real-time information.

As shown in Evaluating INSIGHT[1], the combined impact is clear: fewer disruptions, faster decisions, and a smoother care experience for both patients and staff.

Patient Flow Management
- plan, manage, and monitor in real time

INSIGHT gives teams a shared, real-time overview of patient flow, enabling faster decisions and smoother coordination across departments.

By connecting staff, resources, and communication on one platform, it reduces disruptions, frees up time, and supports better patient care.
