Getinge Advances ECLS Technology with Cardiohelp II – The Next Evolution in Extracorporeal Life Support

Cardiohelp II was developed in close collaboration with healthcare professionals to address the increasing complexity of ECLS management across the continuum of care. The system integrates advanced monitoring capabilities and step-by-step workflow guidance, while alarm-driven workflows help healthcare teams identify and address issues efficiently.  Its compact design and reduced weight enable smooth transitions within the hospital and during transport.

To strengthen patient care, Cardiohelp II incorporates advanced monitoring capabilities that can provide timely clinical insights. Improved gas management with an integrated electronic gas blender, expanded trend analysis, optimized blood parameter monitoring, and near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS)-based rSO₂ monitoring for continuous regional oxygenation monitoring. These integrated features support informed decision-making during demanding care scenarios and enable care teams to detect changes earlier and respond proactively.

Together, these capabilities create a more connected and intelligent ECLS platform and a more complete clinical assessment of a patient’s condition over time to support consistent therapy delivery, enhance situational awareness and help clinicians manage extracorporeal life support with greater precision.
